What this measures
Depth is how much you could buy or sell in one trade before moving the price by 1%. It is not the money sitting in a pool: most of that sits at prices nobody trades at, and cannot be traded against today.
Every figure here comes from replaying the chain's own record of where that money sits, tick by tick, and checking the result against what the chain reported at each trade.
